PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Share this project:

This game was made for the Winter Remix Challenge, based off of the 1987 game, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link.

The Winter King holds peace in the lands of Winter Realm with his three crystals. One day, the crystals mysteriously disappear, spreading chaos throughout the lands. You, a brave hero named link, must reunite these crystals and restore peace to Winter Realm.

After a lot of updates, I finally feel like this game is near complete ;)

Cool!

Could you make this branchable please.anyway this is an awesome game

January 05, 2016

When the game started. I was not able to read the story text. Instead it went to the next scene and I missed a lot of the story.

January 06, 2016

Yes, the timing does seem to be a bit quick. I'll have to extend it a little. Thanks for the feedback :)

What are those screenshots? I can't find those places anywhere. Also I glitched outside the world by spamming down and right arrows (lol).

January 01, 2016

When you're roaming about, you'll see icons, such as the tunnels. They're pretty easy to find.

January 01, 2016

Never mind it was bugged, I was playing the version before the update that actually added it.

December 29, 2015

There's a few problems... 1. When I start I have no idea where to go 2. I once spawned in a level without my joystick so I couldn't move and was forced to quit the game 3. I don't know what my items are for 4. It's difficult to fight when I can't attack while moving 5. Please make the jumping controls different. It's hard to move while moving the joystick up

January 06, 2016

1/3. In the original Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, you don't get told where to go. You're urged to find out yourself - to discover a little. In my version, I really wanted to stick to the original roots of Zelda 2, making it feel similar to it. That means compromises. 2. I don't know why that would happen, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the heads up :) 4. I had to hide the attack button when jumping because it was glitching out before. 5. I'll improve the jumping in the next update.

Thanks for the feedback.

Amazing! Best game! 10/10! :)

December 29, 2015

Thanks @54rush! Glad you liked it!

December 28, 2015

Too short but great for the cristmas contest ;) Also too easy

December 20, 2015

I won, but now what? It put me right back to the map and that was it. It was WAY too easy to win, by the way. You might want to consider adding a much larger map and an increase in difficulty.

December 20, 2015

Thanks for the feedback.

Well, Zelda 2 is a really difficult game to remix. I tried my best to stick to its original roots, but it seems it's only made the game too easy. In Zelda 2, most enemies are one shot one kill. But, I might have to change that. Also, I fear that if I make the map any larger, it's going to get way too laggy.

I'm working on it though :)

December 21, 2015

I'd say to go until it lags. You never know how far the game will go if you never try. I hate to say it but the game should seriously not be that short, although it was fun to play.(but easy) otherwise great game!

December 22, 2015

Thanks. Your feedback has helped me a lot. The next update will include a currency system, a village with a shop and people to talk to, improved inventory, bigger map, a few ruins to explore and find treasure chests and items to unlock more of the map, improved graphics, more enemies, improved enemy AI, bigger levels, randomised levels when colliding with the grass, better movement for map player and level player, a map to view the area, cutscenes at the start, smoother gameplay and finally, I've eliminated ALL lag, meaning the map will be WAY bigger :)

December 22, 2015

Wow! It sounds amazing! I'm glad I helped you. Awesome job!!

December 20, 2015

Here's a few cons -you slide too much even though I think you meant for it to slide it just makes travelling to caves annoying -what boss fight? -I found the candy cane things, I won, found them again thinking it wasn't the end but it just said the same thing -I'm not sure if you meant for it to happen but I got a random encounter with a bunch of those potion things, no enemy -the graphics went from good to bad real quick -I didn't feel victorious when it said I won I think you may have put it up on the hub too early

December 20, 2015

Feels rushed

December 19, 2015

When I move to the corners of the map I see some unfinished or black there. Maybe you can add more there so players can't see that, If you want.

December 19, 2015

Mostly good graphics, but it feels a bit rushed or put together quickly, like my WinterRemix game is. Hoping like me you will update it and fix stuff?

December 19, 2015

You're exactly right. Made this in only two days. I'm hoping to add a bigger map, more enemies etc. I also need to fix the player movement and the story. I might add cutscenes. I don't know. I should've started earlier, I have such little time to update now!

December 20, 2015

I'm pretty sure you can still update the game after today as long as you don't change the entire game. I think that was how it was with the one button challenge.

December 20, 2015

That's what I've been doing. I've already update it twice today :) Nice game by the way.

December 20, 2015

We have also extended the challenge until Jan 1.

December 20, 2015

Do you have any idea when beta will become the official version? Probably not before the challenge ends, right?

December 21, 2015

Definitely not by the end of the challenge. We'll be submitting the final version of update to apple soon, then it will take atleast a week before they review it so it can be available in the App Store. Since the developer portal is closed for the holidays, we won't be able to submit the update until after the holidays, so that add some delay as well.

December 21, 2015

Okay, I was just wondering because I started making a winter remix of the incredible machine games, but then I realised I wouldn't be able to upload... 😐
