Sorry if this is the wrong place but if I am making a project and it has graphics from a different game, and I post it on the hub, but not the App Store, is it ok?

Please reply

May 23, 2016

Yes, it's fine. The only type of copyright on this hub is but copying someone else's game or concept. :)

Please keep comments on topic. That means your comments must be related to this project. For questions like this, it's best to fill out the personal support form in the LEARN tab of hyperPad.

Now that being said... No, it's not ok. If you didn't make the graphics, and you don't have permission from the original creator then your project could potentially be removed. There are a few grey areas, like creating fan games etc. Usually we'll remove the project from the hub if requested by the original graphic creators. But this is a case by case basis.

@CodingPhoenixTM please avoid answering questions on behalf of hyperPad, especially if you are not completely sure of the answer. This is why we ask users to stay on topic and ask these questions using the personal support form :).

Okay. :)

May 23, 2016

Okay

May 23, 2016

So what can I do instead? Oh, btw I got the graphics from a graphic pack someone made in the hub.

May 23, 2016

Again, try to keep comment son topic of this game.

What you can do: Find royalty free graphics and art, buy graphics, work with an artist, create your own, ask permission from the original artist..

One again just to iterate, it's on a case by case basis. We usually don't remove games from the hub unless the original person sends us a complaint. So if the person who created the art in your art pack doesn't want you to use it and they tell us.. Then we'll take action.

Otherwise we'll use our best judgment, but often enough we don't know if you got permission or not so we don't remove things before we know.

May 23, 2016

Ok, but it is not going to be on the App Store, just the hub

May 23, 2016

If the original creator doesn't want you to use it, and asks us to take it down.. We still have to. Doesn't matter if you're making money off it or not.

For example: An art thief steals a painting from a museum. It's still illegal, even if they hang it up in their living room ;).

Although it's not totally cut and dry like that. Because you can create fan games and those types of things... Again I don't know how much clear I can get: Go ahead and use it. If the original person complains, then we'll simply take it down. OR if it's very clear you are taking art right out of another game. Or if you're taking content from another game on the hub.

And finally.. consider this a formal warning regarding posting off-topic comments. The comment section is only for leaving feedback or asking questions about the project, or how they did a specific thing in the project. Don't use the comments to ask hyperPad staff questions that don't have anything to do with this project. Next infraction will result in a temporary suspension from commenting in the hub.

I'm happy to discuss this further, or answer any questions you may have about anything related to hyperPad. Just fill out the personal support form!

Ok, I will make my own graphics

May 21, 2016

I like it! The controls are nice and smooth, and I like the idea that you can customize a character, though that should be unlocked over time. Even the fonts seem pretty professional.

Obviously I have some feedback...

  1. Graphics... You seem very proud of the graphics you have. I think that they're pretty good as well. However, the actual theme is lacking. It should be giving off some feel, which it isn't. Also, the colors don't fit well together. It really isn't about having a lot of colors, but good colors. If you go to my game "Exactly!" and look through the comments, you should find Hamed's with a link to color scheme website with color schemes and their hex codes.

  2. As I aid, the actual concept of the game and the gameplay is amazing! However, over time people might get used to it. If you gradually make it harder, and maybe include even some necessary collection objects, it would be even better!

  3. I don't know if you're planning this in the future, but maybe a sort of shop....

Hey everyone! Just letting you know, tap on the Large character on in the customisation menu to reset all colours to default, thanks! 1.1 should be out soon! I'm adding in more rockets, colours, and Mabye even levels. :)
