PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Share this project:

This is Cell Eater. The goal of this game is to outgrow your opponent, or to just try to beat your previous highscore in one-player mode. You are able to share your highscore to Facebook and Twitter and compete with your friends to get the highest score. Originally from Gamepress, so the transfer may have included some bugs I haven't caught yet!

You really should add a proper description. The 140 character limit is in place for a reason. Your description doesn't describe the game at all. Maybe explain the game play, and what the goal of the game is.

Actual Game feedback:

  • You should make all your objects passable. This way the player doesn't stutter or get stopped when absorbing another object.

  • Your behaviour logic is causing performance issues. You have multiple timers of the same numbers. You should avoid having too many timers. So if you have a bunch of timers all set for 1 second, delete them and make one control everything. Timers slow down your game. For some reason you're changing the zoom of your screen every single frame of your game. Your logic is running IF GET LABEL 9 Zoom screen, every single frame. Why are you doing this? Instead, delete all of these IF checks. Don't check based on the label. Do the check each time your object collides with something which increments the label/mass any ways. You can handle all of your logic in one place, and at the right time. Basically avoid doing things every frame (timers), and try to do them at the same time as something else. Hopefully this makes a little sense.

It's good but, in my case, it lags a lot. Maybe you should hide the cells when they go offscreen and get shown when they get on screen? Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

Sorry I didn't specify what mode I was talking about, I'm talking about the single player mode.

@LinkoGames Someone said it is because all of the timers. In v.2.2, 1-player and 2-player mode will have increased performance.

Nice, although it would be better if you make your own graphics.

I use iDesignPro Free https://appsto.re/ca/dSDy1.i

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't really use those kinds of apps. I usually only use pixel art applications for making graphics on Gamepress or hyperPad, and if I do use something different, I like it if it was compatible with Fiftythree's Pencil. Thanks anyway.
