Fly around as a colourful ship of your colour choice and destroy endless waves of boring grey enemy ships, and when you finally go down nuke everything on the screen. Don't just constantly shoot though, as your energy is not unlimited but it does regenerate (triangle bar). You also have a shield (oval bar) protecting your hull (rectangle bar) which also regenerates over time.

Sadly this game will get laggy over time, and it's taking me forever to find out why. Won't be making any other progress until the lag is fixed.

This is a remake of my GamePress game.

Not sure if this is meant to happen, but when I play all the enemy's shoot directly opposite the way I am. It's as if their graphics were flipped. Even when I try to purposely get in way of their fire. They just turn away and show their backs towards me.

I gave up on this project a long time ago because I couldn't stop the build up of lag no matter what I did (after about 5 minutes of playing I'd go from 60 FPS to 30), I haven't tested or updated it in ages and it probably stopped working properly because of a hyperPad update.

Awesome game, just one thing. When you every run out of bullets or run out of health, nothing happens. You should also add an infinite mode. I bet your already getting to work. :)

That's another bug, it already is infinite but the next wave doesn't activate. It's the square bar that makes you lose if it's empty and if you look closely you shoot slower when your energy bar is empty.

I think I've figured out why the wave bug was happening, if you killed more than one enemy within maybe a small amount of time and they were the last few enemies until the next wave activates then I think the game would break and think you only killed one and it thinks there's still an enemy fighting you. I changed the way the spawn mechanics work now I'm 90% sure it's fixed 😊

You should be an active Hyperpad user and ask an admin for some tips for reducing lag :)

I think it's a bug or something in the way hyperpad works, all enemy ships get destroyed and anything they spawn like bullet effects also get destroyed. If nothing else works, I'll make it save everything and at the end of every wave it'll restart the scene. That will also allow you to quit and come back to where you were later.

You mention that the longer you play the laggier it gets. Do you have "recycle" turned on for the enemy ship spawn behavior? From what I understand, every time you spawn an object it essentially creates a new object in memory. So as you keep blasting enemies and spawning new ones memory is filling up. Recycling them basically reuses their slots. Of course I could have that all wrong!

The enemy spaceships did have destroy in when they die, I also tried using recycle one time and it didn't work. I then tried it and turned the enemy timers off so they didn't do anything and there was no lag, so it's got something to do with the timers.

I would expect the memory to get cleared or overwritten, it would be a bit stupid if memory builds up until you are out of memory...

Ill have to experiment with it, it's not just the enemies because if I turn their AI off it never gets laggy, no matter how many I kill, and it shouldn't be the AI that causes the lag because at wave 2 you get 6 enemies on screen (maximum) and there's no lag.

What are all the different bars used for? They take up a lot of the screen.

Yeah I need a tutorial... Triangle is energy for weapon, run out and gun shoots slower. Oval is shield, it regenerates rectangle is hull, if it is at 0 you are dead. I made the bars semi transparent because of the space they take up.

Lol it's completely broken on the beta, I think because of a change to how propel object works. The player gets pushed towards a corner and can't move away.

Yeah, it's a bug with propel object. Beta users can fix by going into the enemy and deleting and readding the propel object behaviours.
