PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Share this project:

« Hello, would you hear the stories I have to tell you? »

It is basically a music game. But I’m kinda lost in this project. I really want to make a good game, with a good story, with good graphics, good musics, etc...

So I need your help:

- I need your feedback on the first three chapters already available.
- Your tips on: How can I fix something, how can I do better,...

I need to tell you what I want to do with this projet:

- I want to add dlc’s in the future, maybe some EP’s that I’ve made, or collaboration with others artists.
- And after all, finish all the chapters, all the story of it.

All the musics in it are by me, exception for the tutorial music that is from Kisma, the song released on NoCopyrightSound.

How can I do better ? What should I do ?

VERSION 1.5

Last Updated: September 21, 2022

Quick Update :
- Tutorial is now fixed.

Letter in the Main menu is still here, check out the letter to see what I’ve wrote for you.

The first time I tried to run it I think it tried to give me a tutorial? I was taken straight into a level and nothing seemed to really work, I was stuck there until I quit the game. I reopened it and then it worked fine.

I have played this before, so I mean first time played this update.

I need to fix it, it happened to me too but I thought that it was my iPad or something like that ( iPad mini 2 yayaya D,: ), but apparently it’s not. I’ll check it and fix it as soon as possible, I really need to take care of my health! Thank you for your report ( if it’s the word, correct me if i’m wrong, I’m french ^^’’’ )!

Wow. Just. Wooow. Soundtrack is simply wonderful, just like all the sound in the game. An audial pleasure. Great job!! Menu & background visuals are awesome, but sorry, character sprites could've been done better, I think. o~o Sadly I couldn't get past 2nd level due to performance problems (I'm playing it on a toaster, almost), and in my opinion bubbles (these buttons you tap?) mechanics should be changed a bit. I think time between their appearance and the moment they count 'failure to tap' should be increased, but player should tap then only sometime later after their appearance. With this this game turns from 'search the whole screen to quickly tap those bubbles before they dissapear' to 'find the moment you have to tap them', the game still relies on reflexes but now counts on player's feel of rhythm rather than an ability to search for these buttons (I personally feel a bit nervous about needing to tap them before they disappear). Anyway, good luck with development c:

Never mind, I'm a dummy, the bubbles are ok, I played a game a bit more and got used to them.

March 21, 2019

Thank you ! :D Actually, I think I might rework the bubbles a bit ;) I’m not really satisfied of how this little mechanic work. At first, I was going to make a rythm game and everything, but sadly I didn’t know how to do it. So I’ve made this XD I know that now I can’t really change anything for this mechanic, but I think that i’ll add a new in the future ^^ Also a big thank you again for your feedback, It actually motivate me a lot ! With all the work that I have to do, I do really need a lot of motivation ^^’ Thank you again, I hope I’ll see you next time !! :3

Need motivation? Here take some, I don't need it anyway :D Stay determined!

This game is downright amazing. Every time I play this it always cheers me up. This really is a great example of simple yet fun.

Thank you a lot ! I’m very happy to know that and also proud of myself :’) Thank you !

Art and animations are amazing UI is beautiful but input response on menu chould be better. The linking of the music and taping is great and I just love it over all.

December 01, 2018

Yes I know that it could be better but I don’t really know how to improve that but give it a times, I know that I will find how to make it better! And thanks you, I’m so excited to continue working on it! Have a great day/night!!

I good way do make the UI more responsive is by changing the color or making a sound

Things that I unlock with points are saved and still there when I exit and come back, but the amount of points that I have is not. I think this is because of the hyperPad version I'm on, but by the time I got to the 3rd level, the music and sound effects became broken, couldn't really hear anything properly sounded a bit like static sometimes. After a while of that it just crashed and when I re-opened it and tried 3rd level again it was fine.

November 30, 2018

Yeah actually sorry I forgot to do the ‘Save to file thing for the points;~;

But I think that it is from the new version of HyperPad. The Sounds and the music was lagging sometimes for me too. I don’t really know where it comes from but I gotta check this!

Was the music good already? I’ve made all of it ( even the menu musics and the sounds from the game x,D ) But yeah, just wanna know if you find it good already!

Thank you for your comment!

This is really cool. I really like the artwork and animations, music is great too!

I was confused at first on what I was supposed to do with the tapping circles. But figured it out eventually. I didn’t realize I was supposed to wait until the circle fully resizes before I should tap on it. Maybe make it part of th tutorial where it says “tap now” or something to tell the player when they should tap.

Also felt there was not enough visual and audio feedback when I’ve successfully tapped. When you tap incorrectly there is a red circle, it’s pretty clear that I screwed up. But when I m successful there is only a light blue dot that is easy to miss.

I also didn’t realize there were points. Maybe make it clearer that the goal is to get points. Have some sort of point counter or something. I don’t know. But right now I didn’t know that was the purpose until the level was over.

Any way, great work so far. I look forward to seeing this progress beyond a prototype.

Oh I forgot. As for a French version. As of now hyperPad can’t detect the region automatically.

But what you can do is have a settings/choice where it asks the language and save that or set is as an attribute somewhere(or both). Then use the IF behaviours through out the game to check the language.

If English >set label “English words here”. For graphics that are in French you can do the same thing, but use set graphic to change the graphic to the alternate language version.

It’s kind of tedious but if you plan it out right it should t be too much extra work.

November 28, 2018

Thank you!!! My friend tell me that the gameplay wasn’t absolutely clear like you said, but she couldn’t say anything, she don’t really know programmation or game design stuff ^^’ But now I know where to focus!

And actually yeah, I’ll probably make a special cinematic where you begin the game that should tell you how the game works ( points and everything ) and maybe I could make it more balanced if it is not.

But thank you for the languages features, I’ll try to make it happen! See you soon! :)

When trying to improve gameplay, you should always think about how to reward the player. By rewarding the player I don't necessarily mean give them points, or trophies. More so, make them feel like they've accomplished something even when it's really simple. Everything should make the player feel good, and want to continue.

A good example of a player feeling rewarded is a slot machine. Slot machines in casinos have very little actual game play. You litterally press a button or pull a lever. Thats it. But there are so many rewards (not including the chance of winning money) that keep the player engaged and spending more money to try and "win". There are tons of visual effects and sounds, all timed amazingly well to trick the player into thinking they're doing something amazingly exciting. When really, all the player did was press a single button and wait.

It's a challenging aspect of game design to master, but incredibly important.

A beautiful little game which looks promising. I can't wait to see more of it ^-^

Thank you!!! <3

I didn’t notice it but sometimes, the sounds are lagging very hard. I don’t really know why but I should do some research on that!

And I didn’t mentioned it on the description of the game ( sorry :D ), >> must play with Headphones, Earphones, whatever :)
