Really enjoyed playing this game, I enjoy the story before start playing.

Excellent update! The cinematic intro is awesome, great story telling. My only feedback would be to lower some of the time between scenes. The black screen is too long sometimes.

Also really like the tutorial/arrows. really helpful.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you for the feedback! Will do, I'll shorten the duration during some cuts. ๐Ÿ˜Š Game design is fun!

Oh man, I love when thereโ€™s suddenly a meaning behind a game. I really got into the intro, itโ€™s really well done. I donโ€™t know if youโ€™re using a lot of graphics that take a lot of pixels cause sometimes itโ€™s lagging a bit :-/ Maybe cauz of the graphics or the sounds maybe, but check out the size of your project ยฐ-ยฐ It also did hard glitched at the end of the intro. But talking about the game, it has become challenging since the dangerous objects are more obvious but it still fits in the visual of the game so you really did a good job on it! Iโ€™m really surprised by this, youโ€™re making such great works! I hope youโ€™ll win the competition!

Wow, thank you! ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜ Yes, I used a bunch of sprites to achieve some awesome effects. Of course, it will be a bit laggy, it's always a side effect. I'll probably think about shrinking down some graphics and such, or combining images into one image. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ

Glitch, the spiky log is floating sometimes

October 18, 2019

Oh, that was intended. It's like that.

It was supposed to be hanging from something, I just haven't create the sprite for it yet. ๐Ÿ‘

Had a chance to play it for a few min. It feels very smooth, and the lighting and atmosphere look great.

I agree that the obstacles are difficult to know at first. Maybe introduce a tutorial that is like those quick time events in console games, where it will prompt you to swipe just before the obstacles. Then it will go to normal afterwards.

Maybe use this to introduce a story and like linkoganes suggest add a reason to be running. Could also make the beginning more exciting.

Also Iโ€™d make the menu screen to show your high score. And when you lose, show your score and stats. Making it more exciting.

Another idea since youโ€™re pretty good with online stuff. Can have a daily challenge. Use the http requests behaviour to pull a daily challenge. Sort of like Jetpack joyride.

Great work so far!

Thanks for the feedback and the suggestions! ๐Ÿ˜„

This could have a similar concept like Temple Run, Subway Surfers and other related games. Oh, and about the daily challenges, it could be completely random. I'll just use the Get Time behavior to check what date it is, no need for HTTP Requests yet. ๐Ÿ˜‰

October 17, 2019

Yeah you could do random as well. But I was thinking http requests so you can make them the same for everyone. And also can keep adding more over time without having to update the project.

I agree with everyone else, the hazards are a little hard to notice, but the gameplay feels nice and it has your staple polish! My concern is that thereโ€™s no real reason to flee. The description expands on this a little bit, but actively seeing the threat in-game would make it feel more involved. (My first thought was โ€œwhy am i running?โ€) Maybe someone is chasing the pumpkin, trying to eat them? Itโ€™s up to you. As always, nice work! Hope you win!

October 17, 2019

Thank you for the feedback and motivation! ๐Ÿ˜„

I'll definitely work on the storyline, and maybe I'll make the obstacles have a bright red outline or something. It depends how much time I can spend on hyperPad, I could make a comic-styled storyline or something.

October 14, 2019

Great graphics and sound considering you made them yourself. It is really hard to recognise the spikes, that really destroys the whole gameplay.I think you should make them more visible.Keep up the work.

October 14, 2019

Yes, someone else has also said this. Thank you for the feedback! Maybe I could make them glow red to make them more obvious.

October 14, 2019

How to dodge quadruple spikes: swipe down then swipe up very quickly.

October 14, 2019

You could also swipe up and then quickly swipe right to dash! :)

October 13, 2019

I found it difficult to distinguish what objects I had to jump over, I recommend making them brighter or making them glow or something idk. Good game other than that though, keep up the good work!

October 13, 2019

Awesome, will do. :)

Thank you!
